Anyone done this this mod and towed heavy over 30K miles or more? Looking for real world, first hand advice.

I put on ~60/yr towing 16K#, wind resistant loads all over US and Canada. Trucks get worked hard, but maintained well.

Have experience with MSD's propane injection (great power, no $$$ savings), tuners off all varieties (Diablosport, Edge, Kennedy custom LB7, LBZ tunes) have always run stock intakes and exhaust systems.

Most interested in products that will yield real world, predictable results that will give a true and measureable ROI over time. Not interested in smoke, speed, or gadgets.

Thanks in advance for your knowledgable responses!

Hello Mark,

There are a number of members on this board that have used our system with very good results and hope some of them chime in. One of our beta testers based in Indiana delivers 5th wheel camper trailers and has put over 100k miles on with our system. He usually gets about 16mpg towing and can get 21mpg when using 50/50 water meth mix. He's been running our older Stage 3 system and recently upgraded him to the new S4 system.

Here is a link to a white paper that explains how W/M injection benefits diesel combustion.

It sounds reasonable, but where on earth do you source gallons of mix economically on the road? Has anyone done a spreadsheet that factors in the cost of the 50/50 mix as an additional fuel, and figured out if there is a true efficiency and ROI over time?

My wide and tall oversize boat loads put even the fuel efficient DMax into the 7-8mpg range all day, every day. It would be interesting to see of there is a particular boost or EGT threshold where it made better efficiency sense to chemically cool.

Hmmm...

On the road if needed can get -25F window washer fluid at walmart. About 35% methanol and good for some mpg increase, but not as much as 50/50. Depending on price of diesel savings is about $0.13 per mile. So about 6-7k miles to break even on cost of a system. Have a spread sheet some where and will try to get chart posted.

I run heavy loads and burn and average of ~50-60 gallons of diesel PER DAY. Average trips are 4-5 days out from home base.

Q: How big should the water/methanol tank be, so I don't have to refill on the road?
