I have a friend wanting to put some nitrous on my dually to get it solidly in the 13s. Yes or no. I'm running Nick's 400whp tune and went 14.3 in insane heat and humidity.
I would be worried about headgaskets, if you don't have studs already. If the tranny hasn't exploded with a 400hp tune then it probably will with nitrous.
Doesn't sound like a wise choice to me. You need a few supporting mods before you resort to drugs. Besides, a stronger tune and a trans will easily put you in the 13's....probably low 13's with a Max Effort tune.
Do it...... Just be prepared for the consequences. I'm getting ready to spray my stock trans truck, on top of an already stout 500+ rwhp tune from Nick. But I also know theres is a distinct possibility that I will grenade the transmission the first time I lean on it with the button down. Just something to keep in mind.
i blasted my 03 with nitrous running a stock tranny a few times with a rather large tune. it handled it just fine for the few times i did it, although i am sure if i would have kept after it wouldnt have lasted to much longer. just make sure you dont go much larger than a .070 jet. headgaskets should be safe. your truck will 60 foot like a rocket.
Probably see how it runs last few days before you trade one off. Never thought about that angle. True test with some risk. Most stay together it seems from the posts...
