Why does the LB7 Kick so Much A**?

As I was going up the Cajon pass (a 6% grade) a few days ago in 5th gear i wondered why my LB7 Kicks so much butt. Every time it seems i go up the Cajon pass im constantly stuck behind Fords and Dodges blazin at 45 mph while i fly by at 70, Can anyone tell me why this is?
