Limp Mode After Exhaust and Tuner

Good afternoon all! I've done a lot of searching and please forgive me if I happened to miss the right post, but this problem is driving me nuts as it's so simple it makes no sense.

Did a full exhaust install two weeks ago, complete with downpipe and PPE excellerator. Ran 2.2ish tanks of fuel (over 1300 miles) with no issues and loved the increase in fuel efficiency and power with just the tune 1 on it (50/90 I believe).

Fast forward to yesterday and while driving it decided to go into limp mode. Used the CTS2 to clear the codes and all back to normal. Five minutes later, throws the limp mode again. You can almost set your watch by it.

The exhaust change threw the following codes even with the PPE: 2033 (EGT sensor above CAT Converter), 2455 (DPF signal to ECM is shorted), 0546 (EGT sensor circuit low). Truck would run fine and the CEL would be on, but from my research it wouldn't be out of the ordinary.

After five minutes it would throw the code 2463 (DPF restriction due to soot) and sometimes a 0571 which is a brake/cruise sensor but I believe the limp mode was caused by the prior.

So I'm looking at options at this point. REGEN manually through CTS2 is not an option due to sensor being removed, just like the EGTs. Do I have to just go with a racetuner that tells the engine a regen isn't needed?

Any thoughts for this semi-newb to this modding are much appreciated!

Ok a few questions to help me understand

1- where did you get the exhaust and tuner from?

2- did you "jump on it" with the 90 HP tune active

3- was the "delete tune" written for your truck?

4-how many miles?

The exhaust itself I bought off Amazon if I recall correctly and the tuner from a distributor. The PPE tuner itself was already loaded with the 1-4 tunes. I loaded tune 1 (50hp) to just gauge fuel mileage changes and was not planning on going to the 90 for some time. I did download the stock settings before flashing it. The truck itself has 142k on it.

I’m starting to think I need a tune that deletes the sensor reading from the ECM and not just the plug and play I thought I could do. Chalk it up to running before walking it sounds like.

Yeah, it sounds like the tune wasn’t written for what I thought it would be and will need a more detailed tune.

Which PPE tuner did you specifically buy?

IIRC, there were only a very few handhelds for the LMM that came with delete tuning, and I dont think PPE was one of them.

In the short time I have been in possession of an LMM I have learned one thing (most important)

always get help, research and don't make changes until you are certain of the outcome.

The Duramax is not forgiving if the tuning and parts don't line up .

PPE Xcelerator GM 2001-2010 Is the one I purchased and you are correct that it did not come with delete tuning. Now do I buy a tune or sell the tuner?

I’m learning this myself. I love my truck, and don’t like seeing it in this state!
