finger stick wiring Q

working on an 06 lbz with egr plate and stick.

it has codes p0101, p0102, p0402.

i'm guessing the stick is wired wrong after looking at online wiring but i'd appreciate a clarification.

when the directions say "tap into" do they mean an actual tap, like make a t? this truck has three TEE connections.

i could see tapping meaning making a three wire tee for the ground and power but nothing else should be tee'd with three wires, correct? thank you.
