New pulling group in Western Nebraska

We are starting a new pulling group out west that will be including a diesel truck class. Right now we are leaning towards the 2.6 class using NADM rules except we will have to run full safety equipment (sfi flywheel/flexplate, transmission blanket, and air shutoff, driveline shields) per insurance requirements. Would really like to have your thoughts and ideas.

I gave mine and you didn't like it.......

Is there a plan for a weight class or classes? (7500, 7600, 8000.... Kyle notice I left out 8200 and above ) I prefer 8000 because that is what we pull almost everywhere. But it really doesn't matter, we will only hang up to 8k.

Will there be only one diesel pickup class or will there be more than one? (work stock, 2.6, 2.8, 3.0.... etc.) Sometimes it is nice to make more than one hook if you have driven a distance to get there. I don't think work stock is a class that is suited for an association that requires all the safety equipment, IMHO.

If there are pullers in the area that want to compete now is your time to speak up. If you wait you will just have to deal with what they decide.

I too would like to have more than one hook, for me I'd like a 7000# and an 8000# wt: I'm just am waiting for some rules so I know what all I need to do. Is there a tire size limit? Duels? Does anyone know of a reasonable place to buy a tranny blanket?

7000 is too light for most diesel pickups. I could make it with my weight box and a couple weights but I know there are a lot that cannot.

Enterprise engine has the best price that I have seen. That is for a dodge though. I don't know what you drive.

We are planning on having only the 2.6 class following the nadm rules with the additional safety equipment.

Weight will be between 8000-8500. If Kyle would lose the bale bed, would probably be 8000.

Everyone in the group will only be allowed one hook per pull. The biggest reason we do this is because of the spectators. We usually only have their full attention for about 2.5 hours and everyone pulling twice becomes redundant. Always remember, the fans pay the bills.
