Hello everyone. Our original study was done almost 5 years ago and is still being discussed to this day. It was a huge success that brought a lot of great discussion to the site. The staff of the diesel place has been working hard behind the scenes to bring you a new study. We are in the prelims for this but are working to find a lab to do the tests. While its not set in stone it will hopefully happen soon.

We would like to start a thread to generate some discussion and some interest. Please feel free to come up with what fluids you would like to see tested. Keep checking in to this thread to keep updated on the status of the new study!

I would be interested to see Sea Foam on the list. What else would you guys be interested in seeing tested? What new products have hit the market in the last few years that you are interested in trying? Now is the time to bring them up.

PLEASE get PowerUp (Gen49D and Diesel fx) products in the study. The Engine additive made my engine and turbo amazingly quiet. It works. I would love to see how well the diesel additives test.

Also include these,

I use both of these and I like them both.

Hopefully Opti-Lube XPD will be included in the new tests. I've been using Opti-Lube XPD since I've owned my truck and curious if it's still the additive to beat.

I think it would be critical that additives aren't accepted directly from the MFG. Since most additives consist of several ingredients to cover several areas of performance it would be easy for the MFG to spike the lubricity portion.

I'd like to see straight pump fuel from various parts of the country tested to see how close they are coming to meeting the minimum standards. The base fuel in the original study didn't come close to meeting the minimum; however that made the data easier to interpret.

The info is always much appreciated!

I would like to see Stanadyne's Performance Formula and the Lubricity Formula tested.

And for the twist, I would like to know if a dose of Power Formula and a dose of Lubricity Formula actually improves it's overall rating.

........
X2 on Stanadyne.

As of April 1, 2011, all diesel fuel sold or offered for sale in Oregon must be a B5 biodiesel blend. I wonder how the states bio (or B5 in general) interacts with the Stanadyne's Performance Formula.

I have used Stanadyne's Performance Formula since the second (or third?) tank full in my 2005 in 2005. I would like to see how a set of injectors that have had additive used compare to the same model year and mileage of a set that never had a additive added.

Amsoil Diesel Concentrate. The formula has been improved since the last test.

I am also curious to see Howes, Stanadyne and optilube. I used to use Howes in my diesel rig back around 2000=2001 before I got into Amsoil.

Id like to see where Power Service Diesel Kleen ranks now & where Power Service Diesel Fuel Supplement would rank.

caterpillar fuel additives part #246-4968 fuelc conditioner, and part #343-6210 diesel fuel system cleaner.

I work at Cat and quite frankly am not sold either of these products are worth a damn, but many claim it's one of the best on the market.

I would like to see XDP fuel treatment tested. Not to be confused with opti-lubes XPD formula. XDP was not on the market at the time of the first test.
