Optic Bump Help

Well I have to change PMD so I thought I'd tackle this optic bump. I went to pictures but I can't tell where or what I'm looking at so I guess I must be an idiot but I need help. I have upper intake off to look for housing you guys are referring to but I don't see it? Can you help an illerate (< See) get through this. Go slow guys cause for some reason I could even follow the pictures.

YOu should see 6- Torx25 head bolts that hold the top cover of the injection pump down. The top cover is where the optic sensor and fuel return hose plugs into the pump, it helps if you unplug both of these. Remove the 6 bolts, and hold the top cover of the pump over to the side, it won't go very far, there's wires going to the sensor inside. Inside the pump, you will see a large Torx40 head bolt, need a good bit that wont fall out or break on you to loosen it. Note carefully the position the optic sensor is in before you change it, even scribe a line with a screw driver on the side of the plate on the sensor so you know where you started. You want to slide the sensor to the pass side of the truck, just 1mm is plenty, then retorque the bolt to ~210in/lbs. Make sure the top cover gasket stays seated in the top cover, and replace the 6 bolts that hold it down, don't forget the ground strap to the PMD! plug in the optic sensor and replace the return line, put the upper intake back on and plug the IAT/MAP sensors in and your ready to go.

TDG,

Thanks again. Bump done. When fired up idled a little rough then seemed to do 3 little pulses in idle and it smoothed right out. Taking for a spin. Thanks again.

Let us know what you think, once you get the hang of it, it can be done pretty quick and tuned to your liking.

not 100% of them, I did an '04 pump last week without one at all, some of them are double scribed, and some of them the either the scribe mark or the bolt hole drilled for the bolt is a little off the mark. 90+% of pumps that have the updated cam ring have a scribe mark that is correct though.

Just a curiosity, when I am done with adjustment, and after I re-torques the T40 bolt does the hole unit move to left or right if you help it with a screwdriver ?
I can rotate whole assembly on mine, is it normal ?
