Tow ratings?

If the 4.5 comes into fruition in say a 2500hd, what would be the expected tow rating in bumper pull or gooseneck configuration? I would guess about 10 k bumper pull or 14k gooseneck and that would be enough for me.

I would think if in a 2500HD it would have the same ratings as the 01-04 LB7, makes same power i believe.

Keep in mind most tow ratings come from stopping and safe anti swaying not power. The 1/2 through 1 ton trucks would probably have different tow ratings if the had the same engine.

Wow i did not even think of that when it came to towing, figured it was based on power and strength of frame.

The ratings come from a combination of things including frame strength, brakes, drivetrain, axle ratings, power etc.
