Hey guys,

I finally have enough money to either buy the Banks Six-Gun or the Juice w/ Attitude. I am asking which one do ya'll prefer? I dont see alot of you running the banks system. I like them both, but the only thing that is pushing towards the edge is that you dont have to install any gauges. But, I would mind gauges if I could find a nice way or nice place to put them. Any help would be appreciated.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Approve.gif

Thanks,

Chad

I have a banks. Banks is by no means the fastest thing out there, but it's enough of a kick in the butt for me. I didn't buy the truck to drag race it. You don't HAVE to install gauges with the banks either. It's just a smart/nice to have thing.

ATS has a cool deal to mount the attitude in an overhead consol. I have mine mounted to my steeringwheel colum. If you dont want to put guages on it you dont really need the attitude controler. Based on what I have seen EGT wise 90hp is pretty EGT safe unloaded but I would definatly have guages if you are towing or loaded. I also wouldnt run over the 90hp juice on a stock alli if you want to be totaly alli friendly. Level 5(125hp) especially with the low boost fueling cranked up gets the EGT's up fast, I definatly wouldnt run that without guages. This is what I have seen in my reg cab 6500# or so truck with exhaust and a UNI filter/cheesed fact. airbox.

I would still recomend geting a pyro though. I dont see the need for a boostguage if your not screwing with the wastgate or needing to know boost psi for launching. Other than watching a boost guage is cool.

I have The edge and really like it, never ran the banks product though.

I have heard the Banks is harder to take when going to the Stealer.

Well, I guess I will go with the Juice. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clown.gif

I just have one more question. I bought my truck used. It had 9,800 miles on it and now it has 10,700. What maintence should be done right now? The oil has been changed but thats about it.

Thanks,

Chad

Very happy with Juice 90HP box. On level 4 it gets me 325HP and 600TQ at the rear wheels. I tow my 5th wheel on level 2. The juice takes me maybe a minute or two to remove for dealer service. Go to the Diesel Place get togethers column and set it to look at last 6 months. Check out all the results from the L.A. Dyno day that are listed there. Might help you kake your decision. Nothing but Juice for me because I haven't seen anything better.

I think the EDGE is a great unit and I like the monitor's functions. Ask Trippin about the choice, I think he feels that the Banks is a great tow unit, but Edge might put out better hp numbers. Edited by: hasselbach

Not really, it takes about 5 minutes to pull out...

I'm been running the six-gun for about 2 months now. It is tuned towards torque and mid-range and is great for towing, but certainly not as fast as the edge in a pure drag race. I have had zero problems since day one. The torque is pretty impressive when towing and makes the truck very reponsive in daily driving.

I knew the six-gun wasn't the fastest chip but wanted the torque for towing and general driveability and liked the trans slippage and EGT monitoring. I am very satisfied with my decision. That being said, there are many, many edge users here who are very happy with their choice.

There is a group buy in progress for the juice/attitude, if interested PM me or see the Group buy thread.
