Recently, we towed 4000 miles. Much of that was in CA w/its 55mph limit for trailers. It tends to get boring watching the rest of the world zip by so, we slap cruise control on and read a book.

My observation is such *****footing causes the allison adaptive learning to moderate performance, so that when unloaded it creaps around like a ford ranger. Upon reflash for a 5-3-4 downshift issue, the dealer put it in fast learn and it is a gazelle! Almost lost control leaving the dealers lot.

My question is there a way to moderate this 'JetLag' or to put it in fast learn on my own w/o having to purchase a tech II etc (on fixed income)? Some time ago, it was posted to drop it into 1st @ 55mph and coast down 3 times ~ always skeptical, just wondering from the experts, is that a viable method?

I haven't heard of that method but I believe if you disconnect the batteries for a little while it will reset.

I think the only way is with the Tech II, at least that's what I've read here.

Somebody needs to figure out how to turn off that blasted adpative garbage. Maybe a switch so you can get it where you want it, and then turn it off to keep it that way...

Well put ~ exactly what I want. On the way to church w/the missus, easy throttle would chirp the tires if I wasn't careful. She looked at me and commented it indeed has more zip.
