Resets the tap cells or memory is the best easy way to explain ....

Yep Mackin, just what Quad said in e-mail.

Which means I erased months of the tranny learning to shift with the Suncoast stage III. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Cry.gif

A lesson learned here.

IMO if you upgraded your tranny I would reset the Taps to allow a relearn ....

When ever a fresh upgrade is done most times a Fast Learn is recomended which involves clearing the cells ...

Just go out and drive different throttle positions ,allowing it to shift all gears ,T/H and regular with down shifts ....

It will learn fast .... When I swap power levels it takes but a few shifts to clean up ...

There are times when a Tap Cell clear will correct a lazy quirky shift .... Nice to have a Tech II although so as not to have to reset all ...

Mackin,

My tranny upgrade was all completed about 3 months ago and ECM was reset then. All was working okay until I erased it all recently with Quad, not knowing what I was doing with the Quad Restraining Option. I thought the restraining option was a performance upgrade.

Recently I noticed the tranny was not going into 5th and locking up at cruise untill the truck reached 55-60 mph. I have hooked Quad back up and said NO to the Restraining option to see if it will shift sooner under cruise.

Don' know if that will have any affect on the tranny now, but time well tell.
