Quadzilla 10-14-2003, 12:26 PM I still stand that something was fishy. I am not calling Got Juice a liar at all, but the dyno was reading funny or maybe that style dyno just reads different? I will be curious what the ol Mustang spits out.....I think it will bring a healthy reality check.

Got Juice.....nothing personal, I am rooting for you......I just have my doubts. If you see the same results....I am sure Bully Dog will have a record sales week!!
I think it's cool everybody came around and put their feelings aside.
Joe E 10-14-2003, 01:59 PM Big Dipper,
I agree - it's going to be VERY interesting when GJ or someone else runs this combo. The scenarios of what we could see and the very outspoken people most likely backpeddling, whether it be the naysayers or the defenders. Either way, many people will be enlightened, which is never a bad thing.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Thumbs Up.gif
Got Juice? 10-14-2003, 03:00 PM I will be dynoing this weekend. OCT 18th @BD-Power that is for sure.
My edge box will also be different so the results will also be different.
slipping on a mustang dyno is not unheard of (too common for my taste), but i would not cry foul if my results end up being less. That said, i will be doing the driving to take out that variable, as it does seem that i can wring good performances from my truck.
Wish allison luck, not me!

Hey man, don't be making excuses yet!!! I'm counting on you (and the Allison). If the combo is hot, then you should at the very least be over 500. But for example, if you come out at 430, then I think everyone will be questioning the first run (you included). Good luck - looking forward to seeing the numbers!
Quad, that was funny.

We already pooped our pants when we saw the numbers at Piers' and now Juice is wiping up something he didn't like?
Juice, I know you don't stand still very long when you don't like something or want to change it, what was the reason? Part of the defueling you mentioned? I guess I don't understand the statement "you want your Juice to run the attitude".

Ol Blue..... the attitude is an edge product for the juice that allows you to set defuelling between shifts/defuel for egt high limit and also allows you to change power l;evels on the fly....unfortunately you need your module updated to run the controller.... since i bought it at piers...well, i just want to plug in my new toy!

Joe E 10-14-2003, 07:33 PM Whoa... GJ, you do know that Quad has the fastest DMax on here, don't you? iirc, it's 1/4 is 12.0x @ 119.xx... I'm not sure he's got very much to prove.

Hmmm. no i did not realize he had the fastest max out there... i was under the impression that Clint Cannon had that honour. Hard for me to believe it though (similar to not believing somone's dyno number perhaps?) ....sound familiar?
Just want Quad to understand that so long as he keeps crying foul about my run, i can so do to any claim he makes as well (should i believe any of his witnesses or are his timeslips borrowed?....timing error? lots can happen in a Q/M run ).... Not deliberately stirring the pot on purpose, but now maybe he will see my POV
Thanks for the encouragement Joe!
Joe E 10-14-2003, 08:14 PM That was based on a post by M Tomac in this thread http://dieselplace.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=47&PN=1, but appears to have been editted, so I might be wrong.
As far as your POV, I think Quad was very fair in stating how he felt, but was clear that he wasn't calling you a liar. Let's not stir the pot too much - we just back to being frickin civil again!!! http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Evil Smile.gif
Quadzilla 10-14-2003, 08:27 PM I can make 544 on 6 cylinders.
Why should I dyno? My customers have dynoed my stuff plenty of times. Heck my competitors dyno my stuff. I think I get questioned as much or more than anyone. If you are gonna make or claim big numbers you better learn to handle the heat. I actually kind of enjoy it now!http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif I get withdrawl and have to sit around and think of something outrageous to say so I can catch hell!
I appreciate you trying to go back it up. I have dynoed the same combo you did....thats why I say that something was wrong. I think it was the dyno. Down here Dynojet is probably the most popular dyno, followed by Mustang and then Superflow. All of them read differently. I am assuming what you were using up there just reads different. I think that unfortunately you will be humbled on a Mustang.
I am not picking on you...I wished it was as easy as stacking 2 boxes together to get that kind of power! We are getting close, but still 40 or so away.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Cry.gif
Quadzilla 10-14-2003, 08:34 PM Clints truck is fast. I am not sure if we have the fastest truck or the most power. You won't ever see me making any claims.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif
I will tell you this....if you want to find out just how quick it is....I will drive up there and run ya. But we don't run for free. If you are interested let me know.
We leave the times and number up to our customers. A lot of people have said that it is easy to build a fast one off truck. I somewhat disagree, but we assume if we can sell bolt ons to our customers and they are going fast then its not one off!http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif It really doesn't matter how fast I go. When we are racing we usually only go as fast as we need to anyways.
So in short, you don't need to believe me.....but can you run 12.8? I would venture to say that he is not making 544 on #2 only.

i doubt it :(
but i am still gonna dyno with whatever i get.... you can count on it!
besides, i am not here for the uberhp..... just to improve on my DMX and enjoy it!... most of the people i have met as far as the bombers go have been excellent people with whom i can laugh with, party with, talk to , share information with, and above all just have a damn good time!
That human part of the friendships made is worth far more than any piece of paper generated by a dyno ever could. And that is my bottom line!http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gifEdited by: Got Juice?
Quadzilla 10-15-2003, 01:46 AM My point is that there are people running mid-high 12's, not me by the way, and they aren't making 544 rwhp. Until just recently the only trucks in the 12's were CLint and Steve Cole(recently as well). Now there are a few guys, then all of the sudden you spend a $1000 and you can make more power than all these other guys?
Like I said, I am not picking on you, I have been on a million dynos, and made a million runs, with a gillion trucks.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif YOU ARE NOT GOING TO MAKE 544 on a MUSTANG, or a DYNOJET, or a SUPERFLOW. Whatever they are using up there calculates power differently? Maybe its Canadian Horsepower?
I am like any other gearhead, I would love to sit around and benchrace and BS with you. I would gladly offer and help in any way I could. Plenty of people here know me, and not people I told to come here, they will tell you the same. What irritates me is that a group of guys selling products (not you directly) want to come and make a scene with something that is basically impossible.
Yes it is virtually impossible, there is not enough fuel available. I could go into detail with ml of fuel specs, but I see no need for that.
Have a good time, share helpful info if you have some, and be realistic.

I would be glad to swab loan or give you one of mine to use for the attitude. Just give me the old juice. I would love to see this repeated but Im still real skeptical. Hey, who slapped your pp this morning.... i did not spend 260.00 on an edge attitude controller to not run it. I am still dynoing this weekend so we will see what number comes up fair enough? even with the big number i did achieve it isn't useable from my POV (high EGT's, tranny reliability!?!?!?)....i USE my truck to tow with on a daily basis, it is my ONLY form of transportation and i rely on it to make a living.
This is going nowhere fast . I posted 544.I Dynoed 543.3 on one dyno for one day! AFAIC i have nothing more to prove to people who call it BS or label be as an excuses kind of guy. It ain't called bragging if you can back it up, and the paper on it is posted here. You wanna get personal/physical.....come over here and back your mouth up or alternatively spend the money, run the combo i did and then post YOUR RESULTS. Prove ME wrong..... just try to do it this year. I will travel 11 hours to dyno and sacrifice 3 of my work days to do it.

As for the personal deal, I never attacked you personally. I did state several possibilites for the error but never claimed to know which one it was.

No Excuses at all. simple fact that i bought the controller to use, not to sit an admire something not working...as to dynoing a lower number on a different dyno we will see, but i am not gonna be upset if it is lower, because i have run on many different types of dyno's and they all seem to hover around 10-15 hp different.
Fishy is your opinion that you are entitled to, but it is my $$$ on my truckand i will run what i see fit when where and how i want.
Got Juice? 10-15-2003, 03:20 PM I never attacked you personally. I did state several possibilites for the error but never claimed to know which one it was.
As for the physical deal, I never said or mouthed anything to call for that but since your brought it up I DON'T need a bodyguard.
If someone directly or indirectly were to call me a liar, i would respond in either of 2 ways. 1 never speak to them again or 2 give them a fat lip.
i do not need a bodygaurd, but when 20 people say no way and were not at the event, i can bring to bear 100 that were there, witnessed the run and though they are friends definately not lie for me for any reason. if i or the run was FOS they would so indicate it .
You doubt the run , that is your perogative. You were not there so you feel obligated to attack the results because your truck was not there for comparison.... still an ok thing to do. You switch tactics to blame the host of the event or the dyno operator, not cool. The personal attacks / alluding to being called a liar is another thing entirely. FYI Mark@V/A ran with me in the truck with programming their DMX would not hold...but mine did...i guess i just have a flier.
You want the results of my next dyno.... you can read about it. You want info on my next mod (after the tranny) forget it. Most of you are so involved in finding potential excuses on me or my truck you have become one yourselves.
To the members with whom i have talked to, thank you for the insight and the advise, give me a shout anytime.
I'm outta here....good riddance to bad rubbish

Joe E 10-15-2003, 05:00 PM Yeah, this is kinda pathetic. GJ - you got some thin skin. This IS the internet after all. No one here has outright called you a liar (but I'm too lazy to go back through and make sure). Some people have openly stated they think there was an error, etc - everyone has opinions. Your truck recorded those numbers - fine. No one here (since page two maybe) has doubted that. Most have been doubting if it can be duplicated on either your truck or another. With all that sceptism, you go and change one of the variables and can't see how it comes across as an "excuse". I think many of us are surprised why someone with an unbelievable/awesome stack would risk screwing with it for the sake of added functionality, when for all intensive purposes, the Hot OJ is all the Ally can take anyways!!! Your intentions of using the Attitude make sense, but won't you kick yourself if you go and dyno 430 with essentially the same stack and "wonder" if the different Juice made the difference or if there was a problem the first time around? The carnivores that be the internet will be all over it, whether it be the Duramax enthusiasts here, or on the Cummins Page. The guys with the Cummins may not have given you the grief the first time around because they may not know the Duramax as well as most here, and have taken it at face value without an understanding of the real requirements to make that kinda power. Your setup making the numbers you did seem beyond normal. Your failure to be objective about it and recognize that it could be just your truck or an error, is simply silly. An error is possible, regardless how good the operator was!!!
I'm 100% supportive of you/your setup, but from everything I've read on this and other forums, my honest opinion is that your setup is NOT going to be duplicated, at least not on a different truck. I hope it will, but sometimes you gotta make a logical judgement, and mine is that based on what I know I think it won't be repeated. I sincerely hope it does, as I've stated sincerely before, cuz it'll tell me what I'm spending on next.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Cool.gif Again, I hope it's the stack, but the engineer in me says it ain't.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Disapprove.gif
You wanna complain about people being mean/personal - I think you've been as or more personal than most others. Just an outsider here who's only trying to get the data on the page - honest opinions always have to be welcome, regardless whether they're what we want to hear or not.

PEANUTGRWR 10-16-2003, 12:05 AM LOOK THIER ARE LOTS OF POEPLE HERE THAT HAVE GIVEN HIM HELL THAT HIS COMBO WONT WORK AND HES DREAMING. BUT, HAS ANYONE ELSE TRIED IT AND TAKEN IT TO A DAYNO???? HES THE ONE TRYING TO PROVE HIMSELF!!!! AND THAT IS WRONG, IF YOU DONT BELIEVE HIM THEN YOU SHOULD BE THE ONE TRYING TO PROVE HIM WRONG. HES MADE A STATEMENT AND BACKED IT UP WITH A DYNO SHEET. I HAVE NO CLUE IF IT IS CORRECT NOR DO ANY OF YOU. SO, BEFORE YOU GO AND ACCUSE HIM OF MAKING UP A STORY OR NOT TELLING THE TRUTH, OR EVEN NO KNOWING HOW TO RUN HIS TRUCK ON A DYNO WHY DONT YOU TRY THE SAME COMBO FOR YOURSELVEShttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clown.gif Edited by: PEANUTGRWR
CPMac 10-16-2003, 12:14 AM GJ I never called you a liar. For the record I believe you are telling it just as it is. I do wonder why you let go of a potentially awesome combination but that is the difference between you and me. I am fairly positive I know what the error was and I don't care if the error ever gets revealed, all I want to know is if there wasn't an error. You driving to another dyno event is more than you need to do to prove yourself I agree but weren't you going anyway? I have tried to get it through your thick head that there were several possibilities for an error and a few of them suggested you were a phony or liar but I never said that was the case only a possibility. I also wasn't accusing the shop you were at or the dyno operator only stating that they were a possibility or that the dyno doesn't read consistent with the dyno's everyone else uses. I have read that the brand dyno in question is considered generous. Go ahead and run off again that shows what you are really made of. I'll be right here waiting for some more proof.
fredw 10-16-2003, 01:38 AM way to go boys, pissed him off not once but twice, what a fourm, i really would some how like him to suceed, just to here your replys, http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Cry.gif
So what did we get out of this topic?
GJ dynoed 544RWHP. It was witnessed by many and confirmed by Piers.
Those who did not witness it (including me) are skeptical about the ability to repeat the numbers.
GJ says he will re-run but not with the same boxes.
Those who did not witness it (including me) are now even more skeptical.
GJ runs off with his tail between his legs and the Dodge boys invite everybody over to their forum.
Is that a fair summary?

Kennedy 10-16-2003, 09:16 PM BD's dyno WILL be a formiddable opponent, and will likely produce more realistic numbers. It seems to read just a few HP higher than what I typically see, but they are at a much lower elevation as I understand.
PEANUTGRWR 10-16-2003, 09:22 PM IF THEY BOTH ARE AT SEA LEVEL HOW IN THE HELL CAN THE ELEVATION VARY???????????????????????????????????????http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Geek.gif

Please re-read my post.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Ermm.gif
There are a number of variables. What I typically see at my 1300' high humidity air will not be consistent with a seal level test. Also, the calibration of the dyno. While the Mustang can be very consistent, the Mustang numbers will vary from dyno to dyno...

Max Power 10-18-2003, 09:42 AM I would have to agree with hdmax. Using all caps is very poor forum etiquette.

Joe E 10-18-2003, 10:06 AM Well, if he's doing it to piss people off, then it's pretty easy for all of us to ignore (him). If he doesn't get it, well then I dunno...
Kinda disappointing/annoying, however you look at it.

Actually I could care less. No feelings hurt here. It really doesn't bother me a bit. I was just trying to inform you in case you were not aware (for your benefit not mine.) Obviously you are aware and you are just too ignorant go by the book.
Go ahead, continue typing in all caps. People will try to help you out in the future again and you will insult them again. In the end, your still the one looking stupid.

FirstDiesel 10-18-2003, 02:14 PM There is a certain amount of courtesy and consideration expected. You don't seem to understand this. Caps get hard to read and it is considered a form of yelling.
You clearly don't care and people have accepted it from you in the past. Doesn't mean everyone will or should.
Max Power 10-18-2003, 02:15 PM I see I struck a nerve http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Evil Smile.gif Maybe you should think about that before you attack someone for innocently trying to help you out. Have a nice day.
Without taking sides... lets not go any further with this.
I'm gonna close this topic as it stands.
You are all free to open a new one and start fresh.
