I took my truck to the dealer on thursday for my tailgate staps that broke and they noted to me that my transmission oil smells burnt and is quite dark. I do have the juice box on lvl 2 never more, that was not in the truck at that time. What may of caused this?? and is a total flush and filling with new oil solve this or do I need some serious work, my truck has 73000 kms on it..

Yikes!. Ron, how do you drive your truck? Do you tow? I am interested in more info, because I hope to add a Juice/Attitude combo, myself.

I think they are just justifying a tranny flush or change ...
If your fluid was dark or smelt burnt you would no it with driveability issues prior to your visit .... Codes ,limp mode Etc ....

It's a good idea to keep the trans fluid changed on time because the C3 and C4 pistons ( which are rubber molded pistons) get hard and no longer seal properly for a good apply. Once they get to this state, there is no helping them. They may not act up or set a code, but they will not be efficient and lock clutch pack as they should.
