It won't ever get the Allison Treatment. There are two I see as why. First of all, there is not enough power generated from that engine to properly operate that trans. You would have to put such a high stall converter, just to get it to move. There is to much reciprocating mass in that trans for a small block.

2nd reason, would be price point. They still need to compete price wise. The allison would add a lot to the cost of the pickup.
Just my thoughts.

Nope, gone over this many times.
One of biggest problem is the 6.0 turns too many RPMs.

Umm not sure on that. Not in the recent trucks at least.

You can select it on the Chevy build thing online, and I coulda sworn I remember hearing it before for 2006 model year...maybe not :confuzeld:

Believe me, the gasser boys don't want the Allison. It is ok behind the 8.1, but the 4l80 takes less hp and pulls just as good if not better than the Allison. The Allison takes a lot of ponies to turn and it would kill what little fun factor the gasser has already. You will be better off when GM give you gassers a new 6 speed with the tap up and down........( like the big dawgs) without draining all of the hp to turn the ally.

The 6.0 is in desperate need of some more gears. AT least a 5sp. Spinning 2500 RPMS at 65-70mph crazy.

I just read an article, I think in Hot Rod, that all major automakers by 2010 will be mostly using 6-spds.

Can't wait.

Nope. You can build it online, but not in reality. The 6.0 doesn't need it as the standard tranny handles the power just fine.

Another gear down low and another gear on top would help out these trucks A LOT (im talking about the auto trannys). Even though my truck has 4.10s i can run about 50mph in first, and 83mph in 2nd:eek: Its pretty slugish off the line, but once it gets to about 3000RPM, then it starts to come alive. These trucks would really benifit from a lower first gear and a little higher OD on top for fuel mileage.

The 4L85 has a 2 something 1st gear while the ally has a 3 something 1st. The 6.0 can be so much more if Chevy will just unleash it, then again so can my 8.1

All I know is my CCLB 8.1 with 3.73's and 35" tires will walk away from my dad's bone stock 04 ECSB 6.0 4.10 truck, and I have no tuning on mine. Bad when wifey leaves you at the light... I was in dad's.. his had 5K TT on it and mine had fully loaded GN(4 cows and all the crap needed for 6 day show, nose of trailer was FULL) coming back from Fl. state Fair.
