Hey guys, I need a little advice from you guys that have used their products. I should be getting my truck in this week,it's Carbon Metallic and I've heard good things about using Zaino for swirl marks and so on. But after veiwing their website they reccomend using alot of different products which add up $$. I was just wandering whats nessacery to keep a dark color looking good without being completely anal about it. I am really picky when it comes to keeping my trucks clean but Ive never gone to that extreme..as they reccomend anyway.

I love the Zaino and I will not use anything else ever. You will love it trust me! This is what I use;
Z-10 Leather in a Bottle (http://www.zainostore.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=Z-10&Category_Code=Zaino)
Z-2 Show Car Polish for Clear Coated Car Finishes (http://www.zainostore.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=Z-2&Category_Code=Zaino)
Z-5 Show Car Polish for Swirl Marks and Fine Scratches (http://www.zainostore.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=Z-5&Category_Code=Zaino) (Have it so if I need it I have it.)
I use Zaino products on my black HD and Sal happens to be a nice guy. What I did was to make SURE the dealer didn't prep my truck when they got it. They did everything BUT wash it. I was very specific about this to the point I told the salesman I'd have a problem taking the truck if it was washed. Just follow the instructions on the web site and I'm sure you'll be happy. Be sure to get quality towels! The whole proccess took me about 6 hours with drying time included so set aside a full day. The difference between Zaino's polish and regular wax is the finish won't bead water like a wax or feel slippery like wax but the finish looks wet and lasts longer. It can also be brought back really easily.

Berk, I've used Zaino for about 3-4 years and the truck or car always feels slick and beads water. I wish it didn't bead, just acted like a sheeting wax, but it doesn't. How are you getting yours not to bead.
My process Zaino 1, then Zaino 2. this assumes I don't have to use the #5 on scratches on the black car.
Thanks

I have used it exclusively since purchase of my '01. Very good product.

I have used the Zaino stuff for 2 years now. They make some truly wonderful products (all except for the glass polish, which I don't think is really worth all that much). I don't see me switching to anything else though -- I like the rest of their stuff a lot.
The Z5 (for swirl marks) does virtually nothing to "cover up" swirls, so don't expect miracles. It's a nice polish, but just don't think it's gonna makes them go away.Edited by: JimWilson

So on a new truck if you start off using the Z-2 and dry with a good cotton towel you should be alright? I mean as far as taking care of a dark color?
What about the Z-6 gloss enhancer spray? Anyone ever used that stuff? I have used Meguires Quick Detailer spray in the past and it works fairly well with exception to collecting a little dust.

I have the carbon metallic paint and I thought the products worked exactly as advertised (Z2,Z5 and gloss enhancer). When I first got my truck I noticed a lot of swirl marks on the driver's side by the gas door. I clay barred, then 3 coats of Z2 with the gloss enhancer between each coat and voila! they were gone. The Z5 then really sparkled things up. Every other wash or so I use the gloss enhancer afterwards - it really helps to give it the shine. IMO it's worth the extra money for this product, plus it's so concentrated the products will last for a long time. I did my truck plus my wife's Rodeo and still have over 3/4 of the bottle. It really doesn't take much. I was hesitant to spend so much money for "wax" too, until I put it to the test. Definately worth it.

If I have the time -- and energy! -- I use Z6 after I wax it. That really makes the shine come to life. Otherwise, I use the Z6 after I wash the truck, if I don't have time to wax it. It goes on quick and easy, and helps restore the protection and luster. Smells funny though. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif
FYI for Zaino users... The Z5 (swirl "remover") has been reformulated. It's no longer that peach colored, creamy liquid. It's now a light florescent green, and much thinner. Hopefully it's just as good. Sure goes on quicker now.
