WOW, 62 hits and no answers.
Am I the only one who drains the water out out of the filters?

John,
I check the clear bowl on my Stanadyne FM100 Pre-Filter for water about once a month (or whenever I'm under the truck tinkering http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Embarrased.gif ). I also change the OEM filter and FM100 filters every 7-9 kmiles and drain the Mega Filter. So far, I have only once found a few small drops in the Stanadyne. In the past 19 years of owning and driving diesels I have never found more than a drop of water when changing and/or draining fuel filters. Just been lucky I guess (I also always use an additive).

I have the same Racor primary filter, and have never seen any water in the bowl, but I make sure to check at least once a month.

John,
You're suppose to drain it? http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif
I haven't even looked at mine. I guess you're going to make me crawl under there and look now...
No wait, I did look one time and did'nt see anything wierd in the bowl. Maybe I'll flush a little through and see what comes out.

The times that I gotten a few drops of water they may have come from water stuck in the drain valve tube from running in the rain. Never have had much at all. Just wondered if I was the only one getting any water.
