The closest track around here is only 1/8 Mile. Do I have any chance of dusting a few people in such a short distsnce? I'll be running the Hot OJ, K&N and straight pipe. My Ally is stock but has learned how I like to drivehttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Evil Smile.gif I'm running with 285 BFG MT's right now until my lift goes on next week. Should I put back my stock 245's when I hit the track or will it not make a diff? Thanks,
Nick

You will have a better chance of beating people in the 1/8th because that is where our trucks are the quickest IMO.
That is as long as you get descent traction.
As for the tires, I would leave the big ones on; it looks cooler when you smoke a Mustang with the big meats on!
P.S. Try to beat my time. I launched at 3psi (2wd) and I was running level 4 with my 35's on.Edited by: 1bad01

Thanks for the reply! I feel better now knowing this info. I'll see what times I get and compare them to yours. Are those times with your 35's on? Nick

Plus with a stock tranny you don't have to spend much if any time in 5th which is where it will start to back off quite a bit to prevent slip.

For the best possible ET's remove weight. Wheels and tires are a biggie, because every 1lb removed from the wheels acts like 3lb on the chassis.
But will a tenth or two be important? Depends on how serious you are.
I'm debating putting on Alcoa rims which are about 19lb each. It will save fuel and decrease ET's.

I just want to see how my truck will do against some ricers,'stangs and the like. A buddy that goes there often says there's a guy there with a stock Lightning that cleans up. Wonder if I can take him?
Should the tailgate be removed or is that of little gain?
