My mechanic tells me that I have a cracked block on '99 6.5. Where can I find one for a reasonable price from a reliable company?

Thanks

Health Service repost name info if you want, but without direct link; as this vendor directly competes with paying vendors of the site so we don't allow direct web site links for products our supporting vendor base provides.

How does he know the block is cracked?? Did he take it apart? These engines are prone to head gasket or cracked heads...and most mechanics don't care to work on the 6.5's because they don't know anything about them.

Something about a company that you cannot find any physical address on thier website. No pictures of a facility of any kind.

They use the GM'esque look and then disclaim any connection with GM. Read in thier 'about' page. They bought a bunch of engines cheap and are moving them after checking them out...honest enough I guess.

But they never say who/where/what they are. Just a web address and phone number with a bunch of 6.5's for sale. I've been to thier site before and it turned me off.

I have no idea how good they are but I am considering the low compression hi-po marine motor myself. I think you should be able to find a local reman facility.

OOPS:p: I'm still new sorry I think its called GM Chevolet Diesel Engines dot net, org, or something like that. I have not tried it but would like to try the marine 6.5 low C.R. motor they have available if I decide to blow mine up. I don't think that will happen for another 80 K since mine is just at 90 now.
