had an 02 silverado with tilt forward headrests and loved them, now have a 06 and no tilt. anybody know why they discontinued the tilt forward option?

I would venture a guess and say that it saves them $$.
"Here's something else we can do away with that no one will miss."
My 01 GMC had them, along with footwell lights and a light in the glove box and the cabin filters, and a light under the hood.
The little touches going away have lead to somewhat of a cheap GM interior.

Yeah, knowing GM it for one of two reasons: cost or cost. Either cost of manufacturing or cost of warranty work. Either way, $$$ rule supreme at the General.
