I'm looking for any pics of install. Looking for a neat clean look in my truck. Any other mods required?

Thanks,

Todd

It is a very neat, and clean install, but IMHO, the display is a little "deep set" and the view from an angle isn't that good.

I've got my SPA gauges up there, but they display pretty flat and dark with thick lines.

How hard was it to run the wiring down out of the overhead to the juice box in the engine compartment. Does the install instructiuons give you a good idea on how to do this.

Thanks, Paul

What are the 2 buttons on the right & where did you get that mounting plate?

Well I'm not Max, but I'll try to help answer the last two questions...http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Ermm.gif

It's not too difficult to run the wiring, but takes a bit of time when you first do it since you're not familiar with the interior attach system.

There are no instructions that come with the mount. There is one screw in the forward end of the overhead console that must be removed. Then there are two clips on the rear of the console, one on each side, just pull those straight down. Be careful when you do this since there are wires for the map lights and OnStar mike if you have that.

The black plastic piece that forms the cubby must be removed. Pull the driver's side pillar cover straight back on top. It's got a clip just like the overhead console. You should just need the top clip loose. Pull the fuse panel cover off of the driver's side of the instrument panel. The headliner is glued to some styrofoam type material at the windshield area. I used a piece of mechanic's wire to pull the Attitude cable from the console opening to the corner where the pillar cover is, that will be behind the glued foam. Then just route down through the opening in the dash along the side of the fuse panel.

There's a cable which runs through the firewall on top of the fuse panel under the dash. The easy access is to remove that fuse panel, it's not hard. Then you'll see a grommet about two inches in diameter around that cable. You can either make anothe hole in it, which is what I did, or just use the one around the cable.

That puts the Attitude cable out of the firewall in a good alignment for the Juice if it's mounted on your UHFP.

The switches on the ATS mount are for anything you'd like. I don't currently have anything hooked to them, but liked the look of the mount with the switches vs. without. The mount is the same price either way and is available from ATS Turbo:

I paid $45.00 for mine from them. ATS Diesel is showing a listing on their site for the mount, but no price:

Hope that helps...http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Embarrased.gif

Zeeb,

You and this site are a wealth of information. I feel very lucky to have come across this forum, well almost as lucky as when I found my DMAX on the lot with everything I was looking for. My hats off to you and everyone else that contributes to this site. Thank you for the insight on the installation of the "Attitude"http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clap.gif I'm sure it will be very helpful and will take pictures upon completion, can only hope that it comes out as well as "Max Powers" but now with your help I'm sure it will.

Now the next question is, does the Attitude monitor have quick disconnects on it for easy removeal when taking the truck to the dealerhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Angry.gif for service?

Paul,

You are just chock full of questions...http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Embarrased.gif

No the Attitude doesn't come with disconnects...http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Cry.gif

But I have addressed that question with Edge. While they don't want me to put a plug up there while I've got this Beta, they don't think it will cause a problem with the Juice. I talked with several of the engineers the other day and they seemed to think the only problem I might have would be an intermittant Attitude display if any.

They didn't, however, volunteer to install the coupling either. So I'll have to do that when the final version is released. The problem of dealer visits is something I've worried about as well. My solution to both remove the Attitude and cover the missing cubby piece is this;

I got an EGT guage and after considering many options, have a local trophy shop making me a black 1/4 inch thick, Lexan piece the same size as the ATS mount with a two inch hole in it for the guage. I'm running the wires for it the same way as the Attitude wires. Then when I get to install the plug in the Attitude wires, all you have to do is remove the ATS mount with the Attitude in it, and replace it with the Lexan mount EGT guage. Hook up the EGT guage wires to the Attitude EGT probe and you're in business. I don't care if there is an error in the guage or not, there probably will be since the probes are different as well as the total wire length. But it will explain the probe in the exhaust manifold. I even bought another UHFP box (it was only about $11.00) so I'd have a lid for that without velcro on it.

I think that will take care of even the most difficult SM's...http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Geek.gif Edited by: Zeeb

Ok, that answered my last question but now for the next. Naw just kidding, you have cover all my questions for this time. Once again thanks for the info, it's good to note that someone else has had these questions about the prying eyes of the Dealershttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Evil Smile.gif
