First of all, on public streets I'll never race more than 15 or 20 over the limit and only if the way is clear with no sidestreets. This was the case when at a light a beautiful Ford P/S dually with twin video screens pulled up next to me, looking like a family rig. I'm running Juice Comp with Attitude in level 4. All else stock.

He gave a little rev & I thought no, can't be, but punched the button to level 5 anyway for the first time. Light turned green & I started off nice and slow and he gave his a hit. O.K., I'm in 2nd now and smashed the carpet pulling him like he was parked so, I backed off completely. He hit it again so I thought what the hell and buried it again. This time he pulled me like I was parked. Speed limit was 45 & I was at 55 so I shut her down for good. Tried to get him to pull over but no dice.

I did notice that when he passed me his truck had the stock little tail pipe but, the noise level was that of a Harley straight thru. Could this have been a sleeper & what could he have that APPEARED to give him that much more power? I'd been driving like Grandma most of the day with the 100+ heat index we've had and the Allison was a little confused on which gear to hit and stay in. I hate the learning aspect of this transmission.

What do you guys think?

No Guts no Glory ....

Old ladies and school kids beware !!!! You hear me coming don't step off the curb ... http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Shocked.gif

Hard to say as he was running a chip I'm sure ... You prolly weren't getting the most power to the ground as the Alley was confused and he got a jump on you ...

No get back out there and find him for justification ... Driving factor,he's out bragging he smoked ya and you prolly just lifted ,see above ...

It's hard to beat someone who is passing you as you begin to accelerate. The only true test would be to go again from the light.

The Garrett VGT will give him a distinct advantage in a rolling start...

A 6.0L with any kind of box will give you a damn good run for your money. But I'm still with these guys. Not many Furd's around that will beat a hot juice/*** equiped truck.

Yep, I backed off.......spooled down, and had to start all over. This area is also known to be Ricer Haven with a man in blue parked under every tree.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Geek.gif Probably shouldn't have accepted the challenge in the first place.

Still a little confused on the stock tail pipe and LOUD exhaust. Maybe he cut it off and left it on the hangers with a big 4 inch straight thru and downpipe up front. Yes Mac, I'll be lookin for him in daylight, especially since he wouldn't pull over....... with both video screens goin Mama may have been chewin on him pretty hard.

Probably just a straight pipe.

I'd say maybe he liked the look or rusty 409SS, but in TX they probably don't rust like up here.

The 6.0 is a tough competitor in the 1/8 mile...

John & Mac,

Would the stage III tranny upgrade make a big difference here?

You will definately get a lot more power to the ground. Especially in 5th gear. Then you have the holding capacity to stack as well. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Evil Smile.gif

I have Suncoast Stage III with Hot Juice/attitude. If you drive it hard it will shift hard for racing. Drive it easy and occassionally race and you will not get the same results. Just fact.

For the record, I added Stage II air box, Flowmaster Muffler, and Suncoast Stage III tranny upgrade and gained less than 1 mph and less than 0.1 ET with the 125 Hot Juice. Go figure.

I have added more power now and the tranny feels good. I think the tranny upgrade is a must with 145 hp + upgrade and would definately prevent some low slip.

Yeah I know, and I felt like a http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clown.gif afterwards. Should never have accepted the challenge in the first place given the area but my biggest mistake was to let up and throttle down again, expecially after I pulled him over a length in 2nd.
