Ive got an 04 3500 with the 6.6 duramax. I have a few questions. Im a new diesel owner and I need to know if there are any must dos/dont dos and any must have/have not add-ons that will help my duramax stay running well or running even better.

My other question, the dumb one, is whats the difference between the LLY and the LB7 and how do I know which one I have. Im almost positive I have the LLY but I need someone to reassure me.

Eighth digit of VIN; 1=LB7, 2=LLY.


Do a few searches and you'll find lots of stuff on the LLY. There's also a pretty good write up on another site which was released before the engine was, so the performance numbers are a little off;
