I would like to gather some info from cummins owners with some years of ownership, how many issues with fuel systems contaminated, or injector failures with the way the fuel system is designed. I have 3 friends that own cummins, they have never been down, never needed any injectors replaced or any fuel system compatibility issues, they just use their cummin's what it was designed for. Two of my friends are in the construction business, and they beat the living daylights out of thier cummins, one of them has a 99' cummins, with over 175,000 miles, never needed any injectors replaced, no fuel system issues, just pull his 32' 5'er where'ever he wants and still pulls like the first day he got it. One friend is retired, and has a 2002 dually, ho, and pulls a 32' haulmark 3 slide-outs, to texas, three to four times a year, since new, and not one hic'up. This is just an observation to long term customer appreciation and long term investment appreciation, the data here will determine if I upgrade to the new Cummins, 2005... Thanks for the info...

Talk with commercial haulers using the Cummins all the time. Lift pumps on the older units prior to '03 have been the only fuel system issue I hear of.

Have NOT heard of any fuel-related 'issues' on the '03 and '04 models. Friend has over 110K on his '03 and I have 40K+ on my '04 with nothing to talk about. Want to add the word, "yet" but that might jinx us.

My last Ram went 416,000+ miles and never did anything other than change fuel filters. 0 engine problems.

My present Ram has, as of today, 131,644 miles. Engine or fuel system problems, 0.

Mine is a work truck, it's how I make my living, pulling a heavy g/n trailer hauling oilfield equiptment. This is one tough truck. If it couldn't take the abuse I give it, I would be driving something else.

My 2000 had 122000 on it when I sold it,and the only thing I had done to the fuel system was a lift pump.It was an amazing truck.
