I am in the process of buying a new '06 3500 dully 6.6 LBZ diesel. I have put a deposit down on this truck but was going to wait until Sept.16th to finalize the deal and pick it up. My thinking was that GM's present incentivies end on Sept. 5th and they would be sweeting the deal on '06 after the 5th. My dealer call me today and said GM will be removing ALL incentivies on '06 diesels after the Sept. 5th. SOOOOOOOO I need to close on this on or before Sept. 5th or I'll lose the $3k GM incentivies that I now have on this truck.
Anybody know anything about this ????

Well I hope not, cuz I am holding out like probabbly most others are doing. I think it might have been a sales tactic on your dealer's behalf to close the deal. With the competition just walking all over the airwaves with ads, GM will follow suit I bet. if not I am in trouble...

Man I can't afford to wait. $3000 rebate is not bad at all. Personally, I don't see why they would offer anything better. The '06's are getting in short supply. Rebates and incintives are used to move products. The '06's are selling, and the '07's are moving in. I don't see where they would have to offer better rebates to sale all remaining '06's

I have heard that the incentives on the 07's will be better in September. It would make sense that GM would come up with better incentives for the 06's also or at least leave them the same to get them off of the lots.
It doesn't seem logical for GM to say no more incentives on 06's.

Through 9/5 - 06 incentives are $4K, 07 are $2.5K.

My dealer said that I could wait and see what happens on the 5th, and if the incentives are worse, they would give me the previous deal by back dating the contract one day. That works for me..

Anyone know the last day you can order a new '06 LBZ? Has that date come and gone? TIA.

The order cut-off for the 2006s was way back in late March/early April.
According to one website (which seems to be correct), the order cut-off for the 2007 Classic HDs is supposedly in early Sept. (i.e.: now), though some people have said it is in October. There are threads about this in this topic.

even if gm did not have any rebates, the dealers would discount the trucks. Don't sweat it.
