My dad has a 93 6.5 turbo e/c dually. We are changing all the fluids. What size is the rear and who much fluid does it take, also thr front. It has the 4 speed auto, who many quarts for that as well. Thanks for anyone who can help.

well i am not sure how much the rear end holds, i havent done that on my own yet. the front end on my 97 holds 2 or 3 quarts. i can't really remember. the transfer case holds 3 quarts. the transmission, if the torque converter is flushed out through the radiator, can take quite a bit. i used 17 quarts when i changed and flushed mine. my tranny is the 4l80e. it is hard to tell how big the rear end is without a picture. count the cover bolts and ask your parts guy.

On the rear end fluid, I've always filled it to the fill hole (on the side of the housing)with gear oil. that gives about 40% for air.
I change my tranny fluid through the radiator lines and I flush it with three quarts untill it runs a little cleaner and then fill it with the pricey synthetic fluids, five quarts.
