Well 10 days later and 1 return stop(they forgot to reclamp the oil dipstick tube) I have my play toy back.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clap.gif

It's running quiet like it did before, doesn't smoke white at idle and my worst injector balances out at around 1.8.

I guess now it's time to hit up JK for a refurbed Juice to play with since I never got used to the Predator power band(but the diagnostics make it worth it) and take it to Union Grove on the 12th for the DHRA.

On an even brighter note, my little guy(turns 2 on the 20th) is finally starting to show interest in bikes so I had to include a pic

And yes for those of you that think I look familiar yes I'm now clean cut(new position at work and I have to deal with customers a little more often) http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Dead.gif

Hey Red,

I have had white smoke at idle every since I got my 2001 three months ago. GM Dealer said it was in excellent shape. I am wondering if the injectors are going bad or what. What other symptoms were you having and what else should i do to find out for sure?http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Ermm.gif

Hey BUTCH!

Sorry to hear (see) about the locks. Oh well, less rats to comb out...

Once a Hippie always a hippie, just not looking the part anymore, than again I've also realized that the older I get the uglier I get.

Anyhow you're best bet is to find a scan tool Vet to check for yourself. I'm sure someone in N Cal would be more than willing to help you out(great bunch of guys here). My symptoms were as follows.

a delayed feeling when hit the go pedal

white smoke at idle when at full operating temp

excessive black smoke at wide open throttle(much like having a tuner)

when coming to stop a rough idle would persist for around 10 seconds than it would smooth out(stuck injector)

fuel economy had dropped off by 2 mpg.

high balance rates as viewed with my Predator
[/list]

Anyhow your best bet is to try a local with a scanner, or take to a different dealer. If you're truck just doesn't feel right like it once did it's worth it for someone to look at it.

And John, the nice thing about hair is that it grows back, but I have to admit it's nice getting off the scoot after a long ride and not having snarls to try and comb out.
