: Sub Box, crew cab
DMAXITOL 08-27-2006, 05:58 PM Having gotten lazy and cheap in my old age! Now thats outta of the way. I've come to a point that I need to put my rear seat back into my crew cab. I want to keep my full length floor mount sub box "as is, where is!" Whats the answer? A bored welder in the area? Anyone been able to mod their rear seat to accept one? IMHO the "behind the seat solution" sux!
specialagentPK 08-27-2006, 06:00 PM Ebay is your best friend on this one there are lots of sub enclosures that go under the seat. I just picked one up for my ext cab for $70.
philtopgun 08-27-2006, 06:02 PM i put one in my truck. It's a down fire box.. It's better to have one custom made than to buy a pre fab one. You get more box that way.. Ill have to send u pics, cause I cant figure out how to make the pics small enough to upload on my garage...
DMAXITOL 08-27-2006, 06:11 PM That would mean 2 boxes to do it "right" in a CC? So much for the cheap and lazy part.
DMAXITOL 08-27-2006, 06:17 PM i put one in my truck. It's a down fire box.. It's better to have one custom made than to buy a pre fab one. You get more box that way.. There's a pic re-sizer at microsoft.com. ( I think it was in the "power toys" section,) and at "Komando.com". Both are free!
Riccas 08-27-2006, 06:32 PM I custom built mine. It is capable of holding dual 12" subs under the seats. I have windows and an amp drop cross section. Its a perfect fit for the HD crew cabs. I will be selling my entire system with the box sometime soon for something like $700. If you need a box custom made i spent about $70 and 20 hours.

excelerater 08-27-2006, 07:20 PM check out subthump.com and or proboxrocks.com,
audioenhancers.com is also pretty good
most ebay boxes are pretty lame
NODMAX 08-27-2006, 08:54 PM I have the sumpthump box that holds 2 10's under the rear seat.
dozerboy 08-27-2006, 09:46 PM What subs?
DURAMAX3500 08-27-2006, 11:27 PM i wanna get mine for under the rear seat too. but if u put them there where do u people put the amp. my amp is pretty big so that makes it hard
tbusciglio 08-28-2006, 07:40 AM I don't think the rear seat will fold down flat with any of the under seat boxes, if that makes a difference to you. I usually fold the rear seat down for the dog, so it wont work for me.

-- RickWow, that sounds like "show quality" stuff there! I'll check out probox and a few other places. So much for cheap and lazy LOL. What was the "Theile, Small" formula again? I haven't built a box since the '70's, I might just dig out the saw and glue!
DMAXITOL 08-28-2006, 10:17 AM Looks like "subthumps" has what I need! Thanks guyz!
LBZ_YFZ 08-28-2006, 10:52 AM I use the subthump box and love it. Would like to have Riccas 12" box but I got mine too soon. I hate when I am impatient and something better comes out right away!
philtopgun 08-29-2006, 01:12 AM Mine box looks identical to the pictures attatched. I have 10v3 JL Audio.. I had the box behind the seat, first with two tens, then three......But this box sounds much better... That is if anyone else is debating between having a box behind the back seat or underneath.....
