Since I've had/drove over a dozen LB7, I thought I'd give my first inpressions.
The LLY starts a lot faster than LB7 (LB7 had to turn over and LLY starts as soon as u hit the key).
It seems 'peppier' at part throttle take offs, like in parking lots.
Do here some turbo whistle w/ windows down.
After setting in 70* parking lot the glow plugs don't cycle before starts.
Shifted into OD w/o the 3-5 mile warm up the LB7 needed in the morning.
May be SOP but feels smoother cruising.
GMC head lites are FAR better than Chevy, the Chevy's had a dark spot between hi and low beam but GMC doesn't (only notice w/ all 4 lites on) also the over all lite spread is better w/ the GMC.

I wondered why some guys on here had complained about their headlights being weak. Must of been Chevy guys complaining, since I've always thought mine were pretty good.

Ha ha ha ha, you don't need a flame suit, maybe a trip to an truck assembly plant or maybe to a shrink? http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Approve.gif

You're probably right Melvin. My dad and I never had any luck with GMC's so I'll just stick with Chebbys myself. I've racked up 600,000 miles on 3 Chevy gassers, couln't get 150k on the 2 GMC's. I know they come off the same line, I worked at GM Baltimore, bad luck of the draw I guess. You won't find one in my stable ever again unless it's given to me!

Lights work just fine in my chebby. Specially with them fogs on! Don't know what would be wrong with them... If anyone thinks the Chevs lights are bad, go test drive a new body style Dodge. Just got rid of one of those and my Chevs lights are much better! Maybe the complaints were from older Chevs? Mines an 04. Did they change the beam pattern when they switched to the LLY? Just kidding, no complaints about lighting here yet.

I had an 04 Chevy and only notice it w/ all 4 headlites on at same time.
U can see where the low beam ends and a darker area then the high beams shine on out.
Just something I noticed, could have been a bad set of lens or ???
I've had a little experience w/ GM trucks too, 2 -00, 3-01, 3-02, 2-03 and now 2-04.

Tim,
I haven't had the need for the brights yet. I will have to take a look see at them when I get a little more miles on her. You definately love your GM trucks... All I know is that the GM lights are much better than my NBS Dodges were.
