Hey guys,

Recently new to the forum and am getting some great stuff for my 05' DM/A engine/tranny.

I was thinking of upsizing my fuel tank from stock but have not faound any threads on this. Anyone done this before and have thoughts on vendors and Lessons learned?

Thanks,

Adding a Supertank was one of the best additions to the truck. Not cheap, but worth it. Salt Lake City to Los Angeles or San Francisco on one fillup.

My buddy has a 60-gal SuperTank in his '02 Silverado and loves it. No problems at all, and 1000+ miles on a fillup (not towing) is nice :) . We recently towed our 5th wheel campers to the White Mountains of NH from upstate NY, about 325 miles, and he used less than 1/2 tank. He tows a 32.5 ft Montana.

Transfer Flow or Supertanks should take care of your needs. Please read previous threads then make a decision.

I have the new design Supertank. I have a shortbed so its 52 gal. 49 on that is usable. The light comes on when 6 gal is left in the tank. No problems and I am very happy with it.

Keep in mind that you will may have to get used the the guage operating a little differently with the larger tank. With my Supertank when the guage shows 3/4 full it is really 1/2 full. I just ran it down to different ticks on the guage and filled it up to see how many gallons I'd put in. I just came up with a little conversion to refre to until I got used to it.

I am in the process of putting in an extra tank. I decided that the money for the midship replacement tank was too high for the extra 10 - 15 gallons.

I had a 5' X 8" x 16" steel tank made to fit in the front of the box. This should be about 30 US gallons.

I am plumbing it in with an electric selenoid so I can switch it and fill on the go.

Tank was $750, plus another $150 for fittings, switches, etc.

Yes I lose 8" of box length, but my fuel gauge and DIC still work.

They will also work with the Supertank or Transferflow replacement tanks.

you can fix that with EFI LIVE.
