Well, I pulled a real boner move the other day, left a tool where it shouldn't have been when I started the engine. It took a trip around the fan, broke two blades, aarrgghh...
To R&R the fan clutch, I'm looking for hints, tricks, special tools needed? I recently did a Ford water pump on a 300-6 van, needed special tools to remove the fan clutch, PITA w/no room.

Did I ask this in the wrong forum? Or am I the only one stupid enough to do something causing the need to replace the fan blade on such a new vehicle?

I saw your other post IdaSpode, I would say that all the techs are at Thunder in Muncie. So, you may have to wait a couple of days for an answer. I myself would not know as I have not had to deal with fan. Hang in there and one of the tech's will come through.. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Approve.gif

Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
