I am about to buy an 07 classic duramax and want to lift the truck. I have looked in to alot of lifts and have narrowed it down to either Cognito or CST. I know they cost more but I want a lift that doesn't stick the front tires out. I was told the CST retains factory track with while the Cognito makes it wider, is this true? Also, if I use the keys and make it an 8" lift could I run 37/13.50/18 Toyo Open Country M/T's? What would be needed to make the truck level in the rear at that height? Thanks for any help. Just want to make the right decision.

I run the CST kit and IMO it's the best lift I've ever owned. I've had Rancho and RCD in the past and they were nice kits but for this big heavy DMax the CST is perfect. I've had it for over a year now with zero problems. I run the Toyo MT's 35/12.5R18's. A good friend of mine run the same lift on his 02 2500HD with the 6.0L and a Whipple supercharger. He has set at the 8" height. We both run Deaver springs in the rear..but he had to run a 1 1/2" block. He ran the Parnelli Jones 37's but just switched to the Nitto 35's because the PJ's would not balance and roll down the rode right. He was fighting out of round issues that made the truck a pain to drive. With the 35 Nitto's now he is very happy.

We both also run a single shock up front to the lower a-arm instead of the upper arm like a lot of kits do. I really think this is a key to a long happy life with the lift. Take a look at most of the desert racers and they all run the shocks to the lower arm. It is stronger and puts less stress on the spindle and ball joints/uniballs.

Here's a pick of his set-up with the Fox bypass shocks. I run King 2.5's with a remote res.
