I am trying to find the keyed hot for the factory deck. I have the non bose cd/tape deck. I am massivley puzzled. I installed a linelevel converter and have that running an amp and my 6.5 door speakers. While trying to find the keyed hot going into my deck to turn on/off the amp I ran into a brick wall. Total of 11 wires. 8 for the speakers, 1 constant hot(orange and fat) 1 ground(black w/stripe I believe) and one that does nothing(thinner orange)http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Confused.gif I tested first with the harness unplugged and then with it pluged in and then stripped the wire(It had to be that stupid thing orange wire http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Angry.gif) I have it currently cobbled in and finding a ign hot wire isn’t the problem….its just the fact of I cant figure out for the life of me how the freaking radio knows the key is on.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Angry.gif ESP!?!? What gives??? http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Confused.gif http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Confused.gif

Welcome to the wonderful world of data. There is no longer an ignition wire that turns the radio on. It is all done through data.

Thanks for the reply. So it sends some freaky signal through that wire....ok, that make sense and I was wondering if that was the case.

Does the general try to complicate things???http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Confused.gif
