Came out to my truck this morning to find the left over damage from someone jamming a screw driver up under my door handle to try to break in. They didn't get in, but there was nothing to steal inside anyway (which makes this all the more frustrating).
Anyone know what I should expect to pay to have my door skin replaced?

You do have insurance don't you? If it is parked at your house you may even try to cover it under your house insurance.

Depends on where he lives, whether home owners will cover it. I know in Michigan they won't. That's why I carry low deductable on my comprehesive.
As far nothing in the truck of value to steal, it may have been the truck itself they were after.

Home owners Insurance wont cover it in Texas even if it is in your garage. Where do you live?
I'm in Georgia... If the cost to fix it is close to my deductible, I'd rather just pay for it myself. Ya never know how they'll use these claims against you later on to raise your rates or drop your policy.
Yeah, I do wonder whether they were going for the truck itself. My windows are tinted pretty dark, but they should have been able to see in enough to know there was nothing in there. I also put color-matched door handles on, so maybe they were going for the handle itself.
Regardless, it sure pisses me off.

You're looking @ $800-1200.00 for a skin and paint, depending on if the adjacent panels are blended or not (probably need to be if white).
How bad is it ? It may be repairable.
