Howdy!

Has anyone installed one of the Parrot Bluetooth hands free devices (like either a ck3100 or ck3200ls) in an '06.

I have seen some posts from folks that have done the install in earlier trucks and I was curious how difficult this install would be in my '06 (see signature). I have the Bose/6cd/XM radio set that comes with the LT3 package.

Also, how are you liking the units? Sound quality, etc.? I do alot of conference calls in my truck, and this seems like a great option.

Thanks!

I have one in my 05 and it is great. The sound quality is awesome. I never have people ask if it is a speaker phone or say it sounds bad. It was easy to install. There is a harness you can get with it that will prevent you from having to cut any of the truck wires also.

While not a Parrot unit, I have the Tellphone 4000 (from JP Customs) and love it.

That unit is a bit too pricey for me

I think I have narrowed it down to a Parrot CK3100. I can get a harness from Parrotkits.com that makes the connections "plug and play".

If anyone else has installed this unit, I would love some pics, as well as some advice on how you installed the display and the mic. I am okay with the connections, but I am still a bit worried about getting at the backside of the head unit. How east is it to get at the connections and route all the wires for a clean install.

Thanks!

Joe: JP Customs may sell that unit too. They provide great support and very good instructions for how to do things.

The is a DIY for the NAV system in the DIY section that gives all the info for how to get the radio out to plug in your parrot adapter. It takes a while the first time (I was really careful) and after that it's very quick.

I've got the kit and like it also. Nice thing about it is that you can update it via bluetooth. As far as the mic and display, I put the mic on top of the a pillar on the driver side. Easy to do. And I use the supplied double face tape to mount the display on the area where your cubby is. Because I have a plow package, I have a piece of flat plastic where my beacon switch is located and the display fit perfectly there. Here's a pic without the bezel installed (only one I found):

I have a Motorola and have also installed parrot. I find the parrot a bit glitchy but overall good. The parrot has some neat features too. Make sure you hook it up to mute the stereo and come through the stereo speakers.

I just bought the Parrot Ck3100. I also bought the harness from www.parrotkits.com It looks like the harness they sell is the identical to the cellsite harness, but it has the parrort connectors already wired in (I.E. no need for a seperate Parrot adapter).

Some question though:

1) How do you get at the back of the stock head unit to get at the plugs? It seems like the bezel just snaps in/out, but how do you get it over the steering column and steering wheel?

2) I thought I read a thread about the mute line not beaing able to be shared with the on-star? Anyone know where that thread is? I can't find it. How will this affect my install?

Thanks!
