Dmax Tim,

Are the 285/70-17's comparable to stock tire height on the H2 rims?

Thinking about changing over, getting tired of the empty wheelwell look, with the 245-16 mini-tires. Did you reprogram speedo? If so, what did you use?

Congrats on the GMC, Just look at how much nicer the front end looks. No more Angry Chinaman!http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clap.gifhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clap.gif

They are 32.8" OD and stock is 30.6".

9.3% difference in speedo and miles.

I just run the 55 on speedo and use the tire oversize for the extra 5 mph.

I just get new trucks every 6 or so months(benefit of working for the General and good dealer).

After ordering I found out they stopped marine blue after 04 or I would have ordered it instead.

I've had all the other colors except pewter ( and won't own a pewter/ silver birch).

Kind of wanted the LLY/sliding rear window and definately like the GMC look better.

I had an 03 GMC and had to trim 1"+ on the airdam to clear the H2 w/ 285 tires.

The 04 Chevy only needed the inside corner trimmed to clear the same tires.

This 04 GMC only needed the inside corner of the airdam trimmed to clear the tires.

W/ a 1/2" spacer on the front bumper mounts u wouldn't have to trim at all.

Whether it is manufacturing tolerances or a change in airdam size I don't know but hope this helps anyone looking to upgrade to H2 w/285 tires.

A new truck every 6 months sounds good. Both are nice looking trucks. Enjoy the new GMC...
