My truck is in the shop for a new EGR. I know about the fingers stick, but do any programmers disable the EGR?

Took our truck in yesterday for EGR valve. When I asked them about blocking the egr, they said it would most likey void our waranty. I talked to Jeff at banks and he said the six-gun budle when it comes out because of the new air box will not let the egr open, but will let the mass air flow work properly and not throw codes. I didn't understand what he was telling me completly but sounded good. He also said the banks on highest settin will cut power down on 5th and 6th to the level the the trans can stand so you won't hurt your trans.
