I have read about some Baldwin filters being used in different secondary filtration setups, but I haven't seen a BF1212 mentioned yet. Is this a 2 micron filter? How does it compare to the Cat filter used in the kits? I can get this filter with a base. Would that be as good or better than going with the Cat filter, or not?

We use these in our Offshore crane engines. They are water separators but they are not high efficiency. (Not 2 micron) It may be OK as a prefilter for a lift pump but I wouldn't expect it to clean fuel to the levels we are trying to accomplish.
