Hi all, Just got back from vegas, did 485 miles round trip. I averaged 15.5 mpgs this trip. My truck is a 2006 cc4x4 dually. I hit some stop and go, but mostly 85 to 95 all the time. Is this mileage decent now? It seems to be coming up some, I also did a couple short trips last week where i got 22.1 mpg with the cruise set on 58mph. I now average 12.5 mpgs daily driving city streets to work,, which has come up a litlle over th 11.4 I was pissed about at first. I removed the AFE drop in air filter and went back to stock also.

Im consistant with those numbers as well.

65mph = 20mpg+
85mph = 16mph+
95mph = 14mph-
City = 11-14mpg

so far (only two fillups to date) i've averaged 18mpg with mixed driving, but no hauling. My commute (40 miles/day) is 45-55mph on secondary roads, so that helps the mileage a bit i'm guessing. No complaints here, thats for sure.

I think that I am just about where Riccas is, sound right. Are these numbers with or without the Edge?

I will say that real city driving kills the mpg's. I live in Dallas and a majority of the city driving is accelerate from the light to 40 and then a complete stop 1/8 - 1/4 mile later to sit at light. And then repeat process. This is not the ideal 2500hd lbz battle ground. 12 - 13 mpg driving like grandma is about what you can expect, I will be mucho happy when it cools down here a bit so that I can ride the Harley, 100+ temps every day are just a two wheel beat down though.... :(

Mxrider why did you remove your AFE CAI :confused: City driving will always give lousy MPG, I get around 14 stop n go.

maybe because the 06 stock setup is very good, filters great, and doesn't cause random engine codes

i removed it because I read on here that people were getting codes. I didnt have any for 2200 miles, but the stock filter seems just as powerful to me. I might try it later again. I think its getting better mileage with the stock filter also.. Has anyone tried the volant intake ? they claim 45 horsepower in the magazine add.

where do product makers get off on these outrageous claims

no way an intake will give you 45hp, unless it comes with a 45hp tune

I took off my AFE air filter too. I noticed a mileage drop when I used it. Also it does not seem to do anything performance wise for it either.
