I want to add some more sound to my stereo by adding two 10" subs under the rear seats and want to know how to run a converter on the stock head unit to run my signal and RCA cables does anyone know how to do this?

thanks-Ltrain

You can also buy a line level converter that you splice into your factory speaker wires and then stick the rca's into that. I went that route instead of the other plug and play looking deal. I paid a shade under 40 for mine but had to splice into the wires.

Be forwarned, look at my post "labled ign hot for fact deck" when it comes time figuring out how to get the amp to come on when you turn on the head unit.

easiest way to get the amp to turn on when you turn your truck on is to hook the remote turn on lead into your windshield wiper fuse using a fuse tap. Thats what crutchfield techs told me when I switched my system out of my old truck with an aftermarket deck to a truck with a stock deck. Worked for me!

The line level converter is a good idea, sounds much better. Just splice the converter into your rear speaker wires.

Ltrain- If you plan to only add an amp for subs, the easiest way is with the PAC C2A-GM24. It will give you line level RCAs and a remote turn on. If you are not going to use the OEM amp, you can tap the line level outpts in between the HU and amp, no need to convert speaker level to line level, as line level exists from the factory.

thanks for all your imput so far...

BlueOX-where can i get one of the PAC C2A-GM24. I looked at the converter JPcustoms has and it seems likeit would be very easy, I already did this on my 2002 Z06 and was a pain in the butt trying to wired the converter for the RCA's.

Thanks-Ltrain
