I have been reading about the cummins swap and am really leaning towards it. My dad and I were working on my 6.5 before he passed away and he always had said that would be the best truck if you had a chevy with a cummins in it. What advice can you give me to make this project work. Should I go 3.9 or 5.9? I can get a school bus with a 5.9 in it for about $1000. Will the allison tranny on it now fit? I know this is long but want as much info as I can get. This is a great area for advice.

The cummins is in a school bus at the high school I work at. Has about 170,000 on it but needs an oil pan where it was run in the ditch. I can get the whole bus for about 1000
