I have the factory system with the steering controls. I am thinking of changing to a pioneer system. Will my steering controls be dead, and will I have to do something for the factory DVD player to work? I miss my pioneer system I had in my 99 dodge. Want the coolness back.

You can use an adapter to retain your steerin wheel controls. I am not sure what is done for the dvd player.
