I need to compression test my '96 suburban with a 6.5 turbo. I want to buy a compression test kit that has the right fittings to do the job. Does anyone have any experience or suggestions? I was looking a kit craftsman has for about $50. Does anyone know if it will do the job?
thanks

I've never done it on a Diesel myself make sure you have a Diesel test kit though minimum pressure according to my Helm manual 6.5L is 370 psi per cyl, auto gasser kits don't go that high generally.
Ok I got a kinda weird question.... I checked my motor and yes I got 380 psi, but if the motor has 21.5 to 1 compression, and atmosphere is 14.7psi, that would mean 14.7 X 21.5 = 316 psi....?
How is it the guage reads 380 psi when the cylinder pressure should be 316 psi? Am I calculating something wrong?
