Intercooler hose blew off....and wife wife almost crapped her pants! It happened under full throttle, towing the Fox at the begginning of a hill, OATs at about 94. I re-attached it, gave several more turns of the wrench on the clamp than what it took to take it off, but it popped off again near the top of the hill. Other than tightening the clamp even more, is there a proven method of keeping that bad boy attached. 27 pounds of boost might not have helped any.........

Had this same problem. Seemed the clamp was too big and it was bottoming out before getting tight. They changed the clamp and no probs up to 30lbs boost

common problem. Theres oil that passes through it and causes it to pop off. Just clean it off real well, you could even apply some silicone to it and reattach it. there is a bulletin for this by gm but it's for oil seepage. Same principal....

there is a TSB out on this..take it in or just clean the area good and use sealant. If you do a search for intercooler hose you will find tons of posts on this already.
:exactly: as stated 2 times above...clean, tight, sealant if it's a problem.

take an adjustable/crescent wrench and slip it over the end of the tube and carefully "flare" the tube outwards. Work the whole way around the tube until it has an even flare around the whole circumfrence. Proven to hold over 50 pounds of boost, did not blow off.

I tried all fixes. The only one that worked was flaring out the tube.

Cool, thanks guys. I'll flare and use some ultra blue.
I'm sure all the people I passed going up the hill had a great laugh at my expense, dammit!

I added a little hair spray after I did this....don't know if it helped any more but it was sure tacky.
