When are you doing the first oil change? GM advises that you follow the DIC for this as that is how the warranty works, but all my experience tells me to get it done at 5000 kms/3000miles. OPINIONS PLS !!!

Did mine at 300 miles and will do again at no later than 5000. I didn't want anything left from the install to be kicking around in there. Changed the Ali spin on at the same time. Diffs were done a 3k.

I did my first one around 4,500 miles, second one at 11,000. I'll continue every 7,000 miles or so. Remember, your engine is being lubricated by twice the amount of oil that a gasser has. More oil means more time between changes.

It has been posted here before that GM flushes the engines at the factory prior to putting in oil and shipment.

Changing oil and filter early never hurt anything. Make sure you use diesel motor oil, not car motor oil. And many have reported that the oil filter was put on at the factory by a 800 lb gorilla, so have a good filter wrench.

It won't hurt your truck, but it will hurt your wallet.

I did my first one at 2500 miles and have done it every 3000 miles since. I just feel as though it is cheap insurance, besides GM would love to sell you a new so I usually error on the side of caution. I also live in the Phoenix area with extreme high temps.

Did mine at 2500 and then second at 8000 mi. Changed to syn on the second change. Also changed the diff at 8000 and went with Royal Purple Syn there. Plan on the spin off tranny as soon as it arrives.

I have 49,000 miles on my truck. I haven't had the drain plug out since 11,000 miles. AmsOil oil and filters and oil analysis rule my maintenance.

PS it is better for the environment. Changing the oil based on mileage only is a waste.
