Does anybody have anything good/bad to say about using Red Line D4 ATF in the Allison?
Every other synthetic ATF is hard to find in my area, so I thought I'd give this a try.
So far, the shifts seem better than with petroleum Dex III, but I haven't driven it much yet--time will tell.
With the PML deep pan, it took me 13 quarts to refill completely...isn't that more than most guys are saying? It was full before I drained, and I also did the spin-on filter at the same time. I jacked up the rear of the truck...could that be why I got so much more fluid out?
