I have a 02 D/A 4x4 LB CC. She's (named Sharon after the talking GPS unit was put in, think my wifes jelous!) got 92k on her run's like a top, totaly stock eng, nada a thing done to her.

I run 265's, and tow, truck's pourpous in life is to haul the 5er all ofver the West. Truck has a ton of power can't complaine there. Only spot I dislike is runnung at 55 mph (stuck behind a truck or grandma). Hitting the slow hills of the mountains at 55 sucks at 1600ish rpm, truck wants to down shift, wich is just the wrong spot, once I hit 57 she wants to up shift.....

I do not want to spend 2K. Local guy gave me a list a mile long I figure it's good advice with him wanting to do a lot of work but I don't feel I need every thing: Air box, Exh, Chip ect.

I'm thinking of attitude set on lvl one with an EGT guage and a boost guage and leaving every thing elce stock.

Good bad ugly?

Top on the list is reliability, I don't want or need grimlins, and getting some extra grunt in that 55mph 1600 rpm 5th gear area.

What would you all do with an eng bought to hit 100k?

Get a set of gauges if you are doing a lot of towing. They will be more accurate than the edge (at least when it comes to boost #'s.) I mild flash tuner eg/ Hypertech, Predator set on 65hp or 40hp tune for towing, or others that won't kill your wallet. Hypertech is quite respected amongst people who's trucks sole purpose is to tow. Hypertech is "safe" for your drivetrain and doesn't hit the higher egt's that other tuners can hit. Gauges and Hypertech would run you right around $500 give or take. Should be able to find one in the for sale section for $200 for the programmer if you find one. That's my two copper coins.

The van Aaken E box with the new Commander gauge would work really well for less cash then the Edge. You would get as good if not better performance but not have to spend all the money. Also another really good choice would be the Quad Stealth Tuner (Standard Version) with the Quad Commander or just regular gauges. The Edge would work good to but there is better for less money if you look around.

For towing you should have 4" exhaust in addition to gages. It will help control EGT's on long hills.
