I think 5ver driver had a thread about this last week and I know others have heard this noise. I started noticing it about 2 weeks ago. Mine seems to be worse when I have the wheel turned at an extreme angle and I take off slow. I checked the power steering fluid last night and it was fine. Do we all think it is just the power steering pump cavitating? Do I need to take it in to the stealer or let it go???

Chris,

I sounds like the power steering pump. When I crank the wheel on any car I have ever owned, it seems to have made a funky noise. It could very well be a bypass valve opening causing the noise, when the pump reaches maximum pressure due to the wheel being turned at an extreme angle.

You are probably OK.
