I hope this is the correct place to post this thread. If not I am sure it will find it's way to the proper place with the help of our moderator. Anyway,
I am interested in the pillar gage set that contains the exhaust temp and turbo boost. 4 questions

1. how hard is it to install the sensors?
2. how important are they really?
3. Are they truly just a novelty?
4. what is a good price?

Answers as best as I can do.

1. It is relatively easy to do the install, there is an excellent guide to installing the gauges in this forum.
2. They are important if you need to know your exhaust gas temps for towing, hauling or if you are chipping your vehicle. You dont want to damage your engine do you?
3. They are only a novelty if you just look at them and dont use them for their intended purpose.
4. The price depends on which kind of gauges you are after, autometer, isspro, etc. If you want a good idea Kennedy Diesel has the whole setup on their website with the pillar pod. You can find them in the Supporting vendors section of this forum. Or you can go with the overhead gauge mount from Trippin, also in the Supporting vendors section under SoCal diesel.

Good luck in your quest. By the way you can do a search for guide to gauge hotness and find the instructions I mentioned.
