jimmyjack1 08-17-2006, 04:39 PM i just put new injectors in my truck because one was leaking down at idle and was making a knocking sound. So in changing the injectors i took the turbo off to make it easyer to get at things. Now after putting it back together , the truck as a new noise a louder knock form the passager side. A mechcanic friend said it sounds like a exhaust leak but i've never heard one sound like a spun bearing knocking. opinions please jimmyt83 08-17-2006, 05:17 PM check where the downpipe goes into the turbo...another common problem from the passenger side is a heater hose making contact with an injector line...makes a loud metallic knock...hope this helps... Scrufdog 08-17-2006, 10:05 PM easiest way to find an exhaust leak is start the truck up, and CAREFULLY hold your hand around all the joints where exhaust passes. base of turbo, downpipe to turbo joint, maybe even down at the other end of the downpipe. If you can get the idle a bit higher...like 1000 rpm, then it will create a little more exhaust pressure to make finding a leak easier | ||
